Elauwit hires Barry Lank as Senior Writer for Digital Media
Elauwit has hired Barry Lank as its new Senior Writer for Digital Media. He will be responsible for writing stories, gathering news and entertaining readers of the company’s hyperlocal Web sites, known as Sun Spots. Barry is a former TV and radio writer, and was one of the founding writers at the Air America talk radio network.
Originally from southern California, Barry earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley in 1983, before embarking on a decade of performing as a stand-up comedian. He appeared several times on cable TV in the comedy team Lank and Earl before returning to school to earn a master’s in journalism from Columbia University.
From there, he worked as a reporter at The Hour in Norwalk, Connecticut, a comedy writer at Court TV, night editor and columnist at the Herald News in Passaic County, New Jersey, and editorial writer, editor and columnist at the Courier-Post in Camden County, New Jersey, before joining Air America.
He was the first person born in his town.
