Stanley Friedman named to Elauwit Board of Directors
Stanley M. Friedman was named to the Elauwit Board of Directors at the company's Feb. 28, board meeting. Friedman, currently the acting general manager of The Alexander Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla., has been a consultant to Elauwit for four years and has developed a strong understanding of the company's operations and opportunities.
"I am honored that Stanley accepted our invitation to serve on our board," Elauwit Chairman Russell Cann said. "We are lucky to have somebody with such wisdom and experience helping to guide the company's strategic vision."
Friedman, a practicing attorney from 1961 to 1986, was Deputy Mayor for Intergovernmental Affairs in New York City under Mayor Abraham Beame, and was the Chairman of the Bronx Democratic Party in the 1970s and 1980s. Before taking the helm at the Alexander Hotel, he served as general manager of the Staten Island Hotel in Staten Island, NY, for more than a decade. He is the senior executive vice chairman of the Staten Island Economic Development Corp., a member of the board of trustees of the Daytop Village charity, and a member of the boards of the College of Staten Island Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America (Staten Island Council), where he was honored as the distinguished citizen of the year in 2006.
"Stanley is a trusted adviser and more importantly a great friend," Elauwit Chief Executive Dan McDonough, Jr. said. "I'm excited about his continuing contribution to the Elauwit team from a board level."
