Carrier Access Manager

As the Carrier Access Manager (CAM), you will play a pivotal role in the continued growth of our organization by quoting, renewing, procuring and cost managing various Type 2 services such as leased network access circuits and/or wholesale Dedicated Internet Access (DIA).  The CAM role within Elauwit ensures that network access solutions serving Elauwit customers are built and maintained in the most cost efficient manner while supporting quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiate favorable circuit pricing for new customer opportunities and circuit renewals with ILEC, CLEC and ISP suppliers
  • Initiate circuit and/or other Type 2 service orders and manage escalations (as necessary) with network suppliers to shorten circuit delivery intervals for customer implementations
  • Successfully expand network access portfolio through establishing relationships and agreements with new network suppliers
  • Lead and drive performance improvement meetings with network suppliers through monthly or quarterly operational reviews to improve processes and SLA adherence
  • Partner with the Elauwitfinance team to manage network Costs of Goods Sold (COGS) and identify opportunities to reduce costs through network optimization and/or re-negotiations with existing network suppliers
  • Maintain accurate inventory of the network circuits/services and provide capacity management to ensure efficient utilization. If the defined capacity thresholds are exceeded, initiate upgrades as appropriate. This may involve working with Elauwit Sales to sell capacity upgrades to the affected customers  
  • Develop a network planning strategy for markets (e.g. cities/regions) where sufficient customer density exists to consider on-net network access solutions thereby reducing the need for Type 2/wholesale circuits/services
  • Assist the Network Engineering team as needed and time permits
  • Report directly to the Elauwit CIO

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of network access technologies and solutions such as Ethernet, MPLS, xDSL, transport hubs/muxing, Private Lines and NNI’s
  • Contract negotiation experience (e.g. MSA, Pricing, SLA and Amendments)
  • Experience in network optimization, cost reductions and circuit price negotiations
  • Background in network planning & network solution design
  • Expert in MS Office Suite including Excel, Access PowerPoint & Word
  • Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
  • Project management skills, attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, changing environment

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor degree in related field preferred, or equivalent experience

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, preferably in carrier access management
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and utilization of an Online systems is a must

WORKING CONDITIONS:
